On Feb. 24, 2015 at approximately 10:20 P.m., a Pratt County Sheriff’s Officer attempted to stop a southbound vehicle, a 2000 Chevy pickup, traveling 80 miles per hour on K-61 Highway about a mile north of Pratt.
The vehicle, occupied by two white males, immediately turned to the west on NE. 10th St. and entered a 30 mile per hour zone, but continued at a high rate of speed and traveling in a zig zag pattern on many residential streets. The deputy terminated the pursuit due the risk factor of innocent persons.
A short time later the Pratt Police Department located the vehicle and gave a brief pursuit, but the suspects immediately ditched the vehicle in the south end of Pratt and ran on foot.
Officers searched the area for some time but the suspects were not located. The case is being investigated by the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office.
