On August 5, 2010 at approximately 4:28 p.m. the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office and Pratt County Emergency Services were called to an accident at on NW 90^th St just west of NW 20^th Ave.

Carolina Franco-Ovalee, 19, of Byers, Ks., was driving a 2000 GMC pickup west on NW 90^th St., when the wheels dropped off the right side of the road causing the driver to lose control.  The vehicle rolled 3-4 times ejecting the driver.  Ovalee’s 2 year old son was the only passenger in the vehicle and was strapped in a booster seat.  Carolina and her son were transported by Pratt County Emergency Services to Pratt Regional Medical Center.  Carolina was then transported by Eagle Med to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.  Carolina was not wearing a seat belt.

 The accident is still under investigation by the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office.
