An arson investigation is under way following an early Sunday morning fire that detroyed the former Richland Rustler's 4-H building at SW 50th Ave. and old U.S. 54 on the Coats blacktop road.
"We are investigating this as an arson," said Pratt County Sheriff Vernon Chinn. "It's obvious an accelerant was used."
Cullison and Township 12 firefighters were called to the scene at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, June 22 and their first words were "We're going to let it go," Chinn said.
Chinn said they have not eliminated anyone in their investigation but they do need the public's help to solve this crime.
"We really need the public's help. Somebody out there knows who did it," Chinn said. "We need them to come forward. Somebody out there knows exactly who burned the building down."
Anyone with information should contact the Pratt County Sheriff's Department at 672-4133 or call Crime Stoppers at 672-3050.
The building was the Mount Pleasant School House and was from 110 to 120 years old. It was the second arson fire in a week at the building.
