On October 19, 2008 at approximately 8:18 p.m. the Pratt County Sheriff's Office and Pratt County Emergency Services were called to the scene of a stabbing. Early reports were conflicting but the victim was found in his vehicle just across from and a little east of Walmart on 54 Highway. The victim, a 19 year old black male, had a small wound in his lower right abdomen.

The vicitm's stories were conflicting from the start. Several others were interviewed in the course of the investigation including the victim's girlfriend. The physical evidence did not support the claim of the attack.

Approximately two hours into the investigation the victim admitted he stabbed himself after an argument with his girlfriend.

The victim was a student at Pratt Community College and his parents arrived in Pratt from Oklahoma within a few hours of the incident and moved him back to Oklahoma.
